1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to LineDanceHero.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LineDanceHero mobile application, the website at https://linedancehero.com, and related services operated by Alec Tong, operating as LineDanceHero in Ontario, Canada (collectively, the “Services”).

In these Terms, “LineDanceHero,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Alec Tong as the operator of the Services. “You” and “your” refer to the person accessing or using the Services.

By creating an account, accepting these Terms through an in-app consent process, or otherwise accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information. It is available at:

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use LineDanceHero.

By registering, you represent that you meet this minimum age requirement and are legally permitted to use the Services.

Registration and continued use of the Services require you to confirm that you are at least 16 years old and that you accept these Terms.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have any parental or guardian permission required by applicable law to use the Services and agree to these Terms.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must not misrepresent your identity or eligibility.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.

We do not ordinarily conduct independent identity or age verification. However, we may take reasonable steps to investigate suspected violations.

3. Your Account

Certain features require a registered account.

You agree to:

Provide accurate and reasonably current account information;
Maintain the security of your account and authentication credentials;
Avoid sharing access to your account with unauthorized persons;
Notify us if you reasonably believe your account has been compromised;
Use your account only for lawful purposes; and
Comply with these Terms and applicable community rules.

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account to the extent permitted by applicable law.

You must not impersonate another person, create accounts for deceptive purposes, or attempt to bypass account restrictions.

Authentication may be provided through email, Apple, Google, or other supported methods.

Third-party authentication providers may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We may restrict access to an account where reasonably necessary to investigate security concerns, suspected abuse, or violations of these Terms.

4. Description of the Services

LineDanceHero is a social and informational platform for the line-dancing community.

Depending on availability and application functionality, the Services may allow users to:

Discover line dances and related information;
Save dances and organize playlists;
Track dance learning and activity;
Discover venues and events;
View maps and location-based results;
Share posts, photographs, videos, and comments;
Follow or interact with other users;
Participate in community features;
Submit dance, venue, or event information;
Manage profile information and privacy settings; and
Use other features made available through the application.

Features may be modified, improved, suspended, or discontinued over time.

We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

LineDanceHero is not a professional dance-instruction certification service, event organizer, transportation provider, or emergency service.

5. User-Generated Content and Content Licenses

5.1 Ownership of Your Content

You retain ownership of the original content you create and submit to LineDanceHero, subject to any rights held by other parties.

“User Content” includes, as applicable, posts, comments, photographs, videos, playlists, descriptions, submissions, and other material you upload or contribute.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights, permissions, and legal authority necessary to submit your content.

Submitting content does not transfer ownership of your original intellectual property to LineDanceHero.

5.2 License Granted to LineDanceHero

When you submit User Content, you grant LineDanceHero a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt for technical compatibility, display, distribute, and make that content available as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and provide the Services.

This license includes making content visible to other users according to the functionality and visibility settings of the relevant feature.

You also authorize us to make reasonable technical modifications, such as resizing images, generating previews, or formatting content for different devices.

This license does not grant LineDanceHero ownership of your content.

We will not treat this license as unrestricted permission to sell your original content to unrelated third parties for their independent commercial use.

Photographs, videos, and images you upload are stored so that they can be retrieved by their web address. Do not upload anything you would not want to be viewable by anyone who has or obtains that address (see our Privacy Policy, Section 10).

5.3 Community Directory Contributions

Certain contributions are intended to improve shared community resources.

These may include:

Venue listings and descriptions;
Event listings and descriptions;
Dance catalog information;
Corrections to shared directory entries; and
Other factual or informational submissions intended for community use.

When you submit such information, you grant LineDanceHero a continuing, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to retain, edit, reproduce, display, distribute, and maintain the contribution as part of the shared community directory or catalog, including after your account is deleted, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This continuing license is limited to the operation and maintenance of those community resources and does not override applicable privacy, intellectual-property, or consumer-protection rights.

Where reasonably possible, retained contributions will no longer be linked to your original public profile, but they may remain associated with a placeholder for your deleted account. Free-text content you wrote may still contain information that identifies you.

If retained content contains personal information or material that you believe infringes your rights, you may request review or removal by contacting support@linedancehero.com.

5.4 Content Deletion and License Termination

When you delete ordinary User Content through an available feature or delete your account, the license for that content generally ends once the content is removed from active systems, except where continued processing is reasonably necessary for technical cleanup, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other lawful purposes.

The continuing license for community directory contributions described in Section 5.3 may survive account deletion.

Deletion may not immediately remove temporary backups, copies held for a short time by a content-delivery network, or copies independently retained by other users or external services.

Nothing in this section authorizes us to retain personal information contrary to applicable privacy law.

5.5 Your Representations About Content

By submitting User Content, you represent that, to the extent applicable:

You own the content or have permission to use and submit it;
Your submission does not knowingly infringe another person’s intellectual-property rights;
You have obtained any required permission from people whose rights may be affected by your submission;
Your content complies with applicable law and these Terms; and
Your content is not intentionally misleading, fraudulent, or unlawfully harmful.

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

5.6 Content Moderation

We may review, restrict, remove, or decline to publish content where we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, infringes rights, threatens safety, or otherwise creates legal or operational risks.

We are not obligated to publish every submission.

Moderation decisions may be made using available reports, evidence, and reasonable judgment.

We do not guarantee that all inappropriate or inaccurate content will be identified or removed immediately.

6. Community Conduct and Acceptable Use

LineDanceHero is intended to be a welcoming community.

You agree not to use the Services to:

Harass, threaten, bully, intimidate, or stalk others;
Promote hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups;
Post sexually exploitative, abusive, or otherwise unlawful material;
Exploit, endanger, or target minors;
Impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliations;
Share another person’s private or sensitive information without an appropriate basis;
Engage in fraud, scams, deceptive solicitation, or spam;
Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
Circumvent security, moderation, or access restrictions;
Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other legal rights;
Misuse venue or event listings to mislead users;
Submit knowingly false or fabricated community information;
Interfere with other users’ enjoyment of the Services; or
Engage in other unlawful activity.

You must not use automated systems to scrape, harvest, or collect user information or content in a manner that violates these Terms or applicable law.

You must not attempt to reverse engineer, compromise, overload, or disrupt the Services, except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.

We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, or account termination.

LineDanceHero may help users connect with other dancers, discover social activities, and learn about real-world venues or events.

We do not independently verify the identity, intentions, background, or conduct of every user.

You are responsible for exercising reasonable care when communicating with others, sharing personal information, or arranging in-person meetings.

When attending events or meeting people through information discovered on LineDanceHero, consider appropriate personal-safety precautions.

LineDanceHero does not supervise or control interactions between users, including any that take place outside LineDanceHero.

We are not responsible for the independent conduct of third parties, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

You may report concerning behavior using available reporting features or by contacting support@linedancehero.com.

If you face an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services.

8. Venues, Events, and Third-Party Information

LineDanceHero may display information about dance venues, events, classes, social gatherings, and other activities.

Information may be supplied by users, venue operators, event organizers, publicly available sources, or other contributors.

We seek to provide useful information but cannot guarantee that every listing is complete, accurate, current, or independently verified.

Venue and event information may change without notice, including:

Dates and start times;
Admission prices;
Age restrictions;
Accessibility arrangements;
Venue addresses;
Dance programming;
Event cancellations; and
Organizer requirements.

You should confirm important details directly with the venue or event organizer before making travel plans or attending.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, LineDanceHero does not own, operate, sponsor, supervise, or organize third-party venues or events listed through the Services.

Any purchases, reservations, tickets, admissions, or arrangements with third-party organizers are subject to their own terms and policies.

LineDanceHero is not responsible for independent venue or organizer decisions, subject to applicable law.

9. Dance Information and Instructional Content

LineDanceHero may provide dance names, choreographer information, song references, descriptions, learning progress tools, and links to external demonstrations or instructional resources.

Dance information may be contributed by users or obtained from other sources.

We do not guarantee the completeness, correctness, or suitability of every dance description, demonstration, or external resource.

Learning or performing dance movements involves physical activity and may carry risks of injury.

You are responsible for considering your own abilities, surroundings, and physical condition before participating in dance activities.

Nothing in the Services constitutes medical advice, individualized fitness instruction, or a guarantee of physical safety.

If you have health concerns affecting participation, consider seeking advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

10. Intellectual Property of LineDanceHero

The LineDanceHero name, branding, logos, original interface designs, software, and other materials owned by LineDanceHero are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, we retain all rights in our proprietary materials.

Subject to compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for their intended purposes.

This license does not authorize you to:

Copy or redistribute substantial portions of the application;
Sell or sublicense access to our proprietary software;
Misuse our branding or trademarks;
Circumvent technical protections; or
Use our proprietary materials in ways not permitted by law or these Terms.

Third-party names, trademarks, music, videos, dance materials, and other content remain the property of their respective owners.

Displaying or linking to third-party content does not imply ownership or endorsement.

11. Copyright and Intellectual-Property Complaints

We respect the intellectual-property rights of creators and rights holders.

If you believe material available through LineDanceHero infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, please contact:

support@linedancehero.com

Include, where reasonably possible:

A description of the work or right you believe is infringed;
Identification of the allegedly infringing material;
Information sufficient to locate the material;
Your contact information;
An explanation of your rights or authority to submit the complaint; and
Any additional information reasonably necessary to assess the claim.

We may request further information before acting.

Where appropriate, we may remove or restrict access to material, contact the relevant user, or take action against repeated or serious infringements.

We will address complaints in accordance with applicable law.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

LineDanceHero uses or links to third-party services, including, as applicable:

Apple;
Google;
Supabase;
Mapbox;
YouTube;
Email delivery providers; and
Independent venue, event, and content websites.

These services may have separate terms, privacy policies, and operating requirements.

We do not control the availability, security, accuracy, or conduct of independent third-party websites or services.

Your use of third-party services may be governed by their respective agreements.

We may modify or replace integrations where reasonably necessary to maintain the Services.

Our Privacy Policy provides additional information about third-party processing of personal information.

13. Privacy and Location-Based Features

Your privacy is important to us.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and delete personal information.

LineDanceHero may request access to device location to support nearby venue and event discovery and event check-ins.

You may manage location permission through your device settings.

Some location-based functionality may be unavailable or limited if permission is denied or withdrawn. The application may also allow you to control whether your profile city and country are visible to other users.

Device location permissions and profile-location visibility are separate controls.

We do not guarantee that information you voluntarily publish in posts, media, or community submissions will remain private merely because your profile-location setting is restricted.

14. Account Suspension, Termination, and Deletion

14.1 Suspension or Termination by LineDanceHero

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

Violations of these Terms;
Serious community-safety concerns;
Fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity;
Security threats;
Ineligibility to use the Services;
Legal or regulatory requirements; or
Material risks to users or the operation of the Services.

Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address the concern.

Immediate action may be necessary in serious circumstances.

14.2 Account Deletion by You

You may initiate deletion of your account through the application:

Me → Settings → Delete Account

Follow the displayed confirmation process.

If you cannot sign in, contact support@linedancehero.com. We will need to verify that the request comes from the account holder (see Section 12.1 of our Privacy Policy), and we may decline a request we cannot verify.

Uninstalling the application does not automatically delete your account.

14.3 Effects of Account Deletion

Account deletion initiates the removal of your active account and associated personal information according to our deletion procedures and Privacy Policy.

Ordinary posts, comments, personal playlists, and associated personal media are deleted, including replies that other people wrote on your posts.

Certain community directory contributions, including venue, event, and dance catalog information, may remain under the continuing license in Section 5.3, where permitted by applicable law.

Retained contributions will no longer be linked to your original public profile, but they may remain associated with a placeholder for the deleted account.

Certain operational logs, backups, legal records, or other information may be retained temporarily or as legally permitted, as described in the Privacy Policy.

14.4 Survival of Certain Provisions

Provisions that by their nature are intended to survive termination may continue to apply, including:

Rights concerning retained community contributions;
Intellectual-property protections;
Applicable limitations of liability;
Dispute-resolution provisions; and
Obligations arising from conduct before termination.

Such survival is subject to applicable law.

15. Service Availability and Changes

We aim to maintain a reliable and useful service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

The Services may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates, outages, security issues, provider failures, or other circumstances.

We may add, modify, restrict, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes affecting users.

We are not obligated to maintain every dance listing, community feature, or third-party integration indefinitely.

16. Fees and Payments

At the time these Terms take effect, LineDanceHero’s initial Services are intended to be available without a paid subscription.

If paid features, subscriptions, purchases, or other charges are introduced in the future, we will disclose the applicable pricing, payment terms, renewal conditions, and cancellation procedures before charging users.

Any future purchases made through Apple’s in-app purchase system will also be subject to applicable Apple payment terms and requirements.

We will update these Terms or provide additional terms where necessary before introducing paid functionality.

17. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

The Services will always be available, secure, or error-free;
Every venue or event listing will be accurate or current;
All user-generated content will be reliable or appropriate;
Third-party videos or resources will remain accessible;
Every interaction between users will be safe or satisfactory; or
The Services will meet every user’s particular expectations.

LineDanceHero is a community platform and informational resource, not a guarantor of third-party conduct or real-world event outcomes.

Nothing in this section excludes warranties, guarantees, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LineDanceHero and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or relating to the Services where such liability may lawfully be excluded.

This may include losses associated with service interruptions, inaccurate third-party listings, unavailable external resources, or conduct of independent users or event organizers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection, privacy, or other mandatory laws.

We do not impose an arbitrary monetary liability cap in these Terms.

The scope of any lawful limitation will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

19. Your Responsibility for Violations

You are responsible for your own unlawful conduct and violations of these Terms.

Where permitted by applicable law, you agree to reimburse LineDanceHero for reasonable, direct losses or expenses arising from your intentional misconduct, unlawful activity, or infringement of another party’s rights through your use of the Services.

This provision does not require you to compensate LineDanceHero for losses caused by our own negligence, misconduct, or breach of applicable law.

Nothing in this section removes defenses or protections available to you under applicable law.

20. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to mandatory consumer-protection and other laws that may apply in your place of residence.

If the laws of your jurisdiction provide protections that cannot be waived by contract, those protections continue to apply.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive you of access to a court, regulator, or other remedy that applicable law makes available to you.

21. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute concerning the Services, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.

We will make reasonable efforts to review and respond to the concern.

If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue available remedies through a court or other competent authority with jurisdiction under applicable law.

Subject to mandatory legal protections and jurisdictional rules, proceedings may be brought before courts located in Ontario, Canada.

These Terms do not require mandatory private arbitration or prohibit participation in class proceedings.

Nothing in this section prevents you from making a complaint to an appropriate privacy, consumer-protection, or other regulatory authority.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the Services, legal requirements, security practices, or other legitimate operational needs.

When we revise the Terms, we will update the “Last Updated” date.

For material changes, we will provide notice and seek renewed acceptance where required by applicable law.

Changes will not retroactively remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

If you do not agree to revised Terms, you may stop using the Services and request account deletion.

23. General Provisions

23.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with applicable additional terms expressly presented to you, form the agreement governing your use of the Services.

Our Privacy Policy separately explains our personal-information practices and applicable privacy rights.

23.2 Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

23.3 No Waiver

A failure or delay by LineDanceHero to enforce a provision does not automatically waive the right to enforce that provision later.

23.4 Assignment

You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our consent, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

We may transfer rights and obligations associated with the Services as part of a lawful business transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements and user protections.

23.5 No Partnership or Employment Relationship

Use of LineDanceHero does not create an employment, partnership, agency, or joint-venture relationship between you and LineDanceHero.

23.6 Headings

Section headings are provided for convenience and do not alter the meaning of these Terms.

23.7 Language and Mandatory Rights

These Terms are written in English.

Where applicable law requires another language version or provides mandatory language rights, those requirements and rights will apply.
